THE LeBRON DEBATE

Okay - let me get this straight; people are angry at LeBron James because, um . . . what?

I still don't understand what he has done to warrant the negative onslaught of words from such greats as Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan, just to name two.  There are men who have done far worse things than switch teams.

Kobe Bryant allegedly raped a woman. Ray Lewis was involved in a murder case. Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault.  Jason Kidd beat his wife.  Charles Barkley was arrested for DUI.  Yet, ALL of these men continue to be honored and admired because of their great talent.  They faced the consequences of their errors and life goes on.

But LeBron has done nothing wrong to be hated upon in this manner. He should not be called a "coward" just for going to another team.  He gave 7 hard-working and entertaining years to Cleveland.  And now he's decided to go elsewhere.  Stop saying that he "punked out", (Charles Barkley), because he didn't.  He merely took a better job offer.
I know that we are all entitled to our opinions and fits of verbal outrage due to temporary lapses of emotional sanity (Dan Gilbert).  But if any of us is ever presented with the opportunity to land the job of our dreams, maybe we should first take our next door neighbor, and the school custodian, and the cashier at the local market, not to mention the taxi driver's grandmother, all into consideration before we make our final  "DECISION".

JESUS

In Hebrews 1:8, God the Father says to His Son, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever."

I just wanted to give a shout out to the Lord, Jesus Christ.  His Father even referred to Him as "God". He is Lord and I look forward to when He is revered in all of our lives again.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, JESUS...I just felt like saying His name.

PRESIDENT CRASHED UPON

I just read the article regarding the party crashers at the white house.  Seriously, they actually got to walk up to the president to shake hands with him.  These people's names were not even on the gues list, however they were still ALLOWED TO GO INSIDE.  I can't help it ... I just can't help thinking how this would've gone down had the crashers been of middle eastern descent or Black.  And I totally believe that if the president had been caucasian and this had happen, the only photos we'd see of the crashers would be mug shots.

It's truly a scary thought that this is the type of security we have protecting the leader of our country and his family.

Two more angels saved

Last night, my sister and I saved two stray cats, one of which had been hit and had eggs thrown at him.  It's a good and sad feeling, because although I can bring them to a shelter and take them out of harm's way, I wish that I, myself, can keep them and know that they receive not just food, but companionship.  Hopefully, they will be adopted by people who will love them.  I was too upset to even think about taking a picture of the beautiful, orange kitty who had been physically hurt, but I did manage to take this picture of this handsome black baby boy before bringing him to the shelter.  We named him "Slem", and maybe we can still adopt him (actually my mom wants to adopt him.)
